good ole recovery run with my good ole buddies, including sami for a little bit which was fun :) did two barefoot grass miles and my achilles kinda hurt but it was fine after. did butterfly arms, toes-to-bar, abs, and hips!

mile wu to the junior high for mile repeats! we did four (with 5min rest between each) and it was supposed to be at tempo interval pace, which is 6:29-6:41 for me. every time i ran the course i only got .98 but i was told to still write down those times even if i was a little short on distance. so my splits were 6:13 6:28 6:31 6:30. i am not very happy about my negative thoughts, but i am happy with my splits and with having a better kick on the last stretch every time! it's an improvement from last time and that's what counts :) abs and hips

went to jeremy ranch for day one of xc camp! ran on a nice trail there, saw some pretty views, and the weather was perfect :) started out slower and got faster at about halfway. breathing was really painful for some reason, but other than that it was awesome!

camp day two was SO AMAZING! went to deer creek trail which is always fun because the views are gorgeous. also the weather was perfect again. we were supposed to have an easy pace feel today, but not necessarily be in easy pace range because of the hills. went out at 8:33ap for the first half and when i turned around i felt really strong so i decided to pick it up and had 7:40ap on the way back. 8:07ap overall which i was way happy about for a trail run. i stayed positive the whole time and i realized running is a lot better when you believe in yourself :) partied it up after for jamie's birthday, swam in the lake, and did abs and hips and push-ups!

last day of camp up at potato hill! the trail was super fun and the view was amazing! i loved being able to see the temple the whole time :) i almost fell lots of times and rolled my ankle a ton (it kinda hurts to walk now) but i guess that's pretty usual for trail running haha. did abs and hips. my legs are definitely wrecked but i am happy with all of my efforts at camp! #believetoachieve

mile wu and some really bad cramps. did 10x60sec pickups at race pace (6:17) with 90sec rest. felt really strong until after the 6th rep during the rest and the cramps were so bad i just needed to sit down. sat out for one rep then finished up, shoutout to gan for doing the last one with me! average for the pickups was about 6:15, so just perfect :) abs and hips and push-ups

first race haha oh man what a struggle. this was our first time running in the real heat this whole summer so that was quite the adjustment! pretty much i went into the race feeling super pumped and ready to be positive but i went back and forth during the race from being positive and telling myself i couldn't do it. the time was a lotttt slower than i was expecting so that was a bummer, but it's fine! had a great time watching the team race, shoutout to my lil bro for killing his first xc race ever today!! abs and hips and push-ups. also tonight was awesome because mashed potatoes make some pretty fun revenge lol

abs and hips and push-ups and a medium recovery run with the girls! my legs felt like bricks but it was really solid. also it was my last run with gan which is so sad, i am really gonna miss that girl. huge shoutout to her for being such a good friend. she's gonna kill it in college! :')

school today was great! however, running was rough for many reasons. did my best to stay positive during the workout though. not a very good time, but for how dehydrated i was and for how hot it was i feel like i can't be mad at myself. it was weird because i felt like i pushed it during but i didn't really feel dead after... like at all. anyways, i know what needs to change so i will fix that for next time. also shoutout to my wonderful mom for buying me a peach smoothie when i got home. she's the bomb and so are peach smoothies

mile wu and grass berm workout to kick off awesome week! the original plan was 8x600m at goal 5k followed by 100m jog and then 200m sprint. jamie decided to only have us do 5 though... and i honestly would have liked to finish the workout. it was tough but i felt like i was ready for more. anyways, cooled down and was dying because it's so hot. did abs and hips and push-ups

my goal for the workout was 6:45 first mile and negative split the rest. hit 6:31 for the first mile then fell way off... averaged 6:43 and just hung onto watson the whole time. it was really nice to have a teammate to run with in a race, it's been awhile since that's happened. not very fast but definitely a confidence builder!
